附加尾碼是指您要搜尋一組URL，windows會先以該組URL
搜尋DNS伺服器中、是否存在，
若不存在，則加上您設定附加特定的尾碼後，
再去DNS伺服器搜尋。

可由下面的範例就更明白。

例：有一網址 uukt.idv.tw，是PING的到的

C:\> ping uukt.idv.tw
Pinging uukt.idv.tw [202.168.194.223] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 202.168.194.223: bytes=32 time=1187ms TTL=52


但若您想打uukt，就連到這個網頁，是不行的，PING不到。
C:\> ping uukt
Ping request could not find host uukt. Please check the name and try again.


但經過設定『附加DNS尾碼』為 idv.tw

就ping的到囉
C:\> ping uukt 

Pinging uukt.idv.tw [202.168.194.223] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 202.168.194.223: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=52
